the part about having good talks in the car is SO true. not being face to face helps them out so much. i make dd give me back rubs but when she does, she talks to me about her day..we all benefit! LOL
i can tell when ds wants to talk. normally, he will come home and go straight to his room after saying hello, but if he comes into the study and sits on the couch, that's my cue he wants to talk...it's usually just simple stuff like how his day went but sometimes it's 'deep' stuff.

This article came at good timing! Dd can go from 0 to 100 in her anger/meltdown in seconds. Its comforting to know she isn't certifiable yet.

dh is always amazed how dd and i can be just at each other's throats one minute and then hugging each other the next!

Really great article!! I laughed at the part about making sure both you, and your tween have enough sleep each night. LOL

I'm saving this article to read it. My son is 11 and is going through puberty already. We have had many, many ups and downs with him lately.

There are times when I feel like such a failure as his mother and then there are times when I could just scream! UGH!!

    Thanks for sharing this article!
