    Happy Valentine's Day

I guess you ladies knew something I didn't... yesterday was my last day of work. Ds is sick today. I felt really bad last night and up until about 4 AM, but I was still going to go to work. Ds called me from the bus stop and needed to come home. He's sick again. I'm glad he didn't get sick on the bus. I feel bad for him and I really didn't want to call out on my last day of work. The director said her and her dd had this same illness an it sucks. Poor kid. I'm going to be a bum and watch some TV before doing some homework. I might even take a nap since I didn't sleep good because I felt sick.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day. Hope you get some good stuff!

Jen, I can't wait for you to start your new job!

The kids have snow day this morning. I don't think we got hit as bad as we are supposed to last night, but the forecast expects 10-12 more inches today. Dh is cancelling his day and staying home with the kids. I am leaving for work at my normal time and when I get there, I get there. I am not killing myself for a temp job.

Good morning! Brichard is going to work this morning so he is up and making noise and turning on lights in my face and waking me up!!! So much for sleeping in on a snow day. Dd still has a slight fever and the "seal bark" cough. I hope she beats this thing by today. She wouldn't have been at school this week anyway... I'm going to work on cleaning the office.

I hope your ds feels better today JAK.
    Be safe out there Amy.

Hope everyone is better at your house soon, JAK.
Call in snowed in, Amy! LOL
Angie, that would make me crazy when dh would do that! It's so rude. Let's just say that I 'splained it to him and he doesn't do it anymore! LOL

    WARNING...LONG RANT!

went to get ds' license finally renewed. he had gotten a ticket on 1-20 for it being expired. neither of us realized that it had a one year expiration. to renew a student's license you have to have a verification of enrollement from the school. (not sure what dropout, illegals or homeschoolers do, but us nice suburbanites have to have a stupid form!) to get this stupid form the kids is supposed to sign a list outside the registars office and then pick it up at the end of the day. well, my kid isn't in school so it was just a collassol deal for me to call and get it! then ds wouldn't go get it, would go and the lady would be gone ect. so finally get the form, then getting ds to the DPS was a chore. he wouldn't want to go, he didn't feel good, ect. well, the court date for the ticket is next tuesday so we have to go get the friggin' license. we go yesterday. walk right in..this is great, no line!! the officer asks him if he has his glasses with him. what??? he doesn't wear glasses??? he says he doesn't have them with him. what??? she says well read the eye check, he tries and can't. she says well you have to come back with your glasses. we get in the car and that's when i find out that his license says he has to wear glasses when driving!!! hello??? didn't bother to mention that? don't you think when i had an eye doc appt for you in OCTOBER and you told me to cancel it cause you would never wear your glasses would have been a great time to tell me??? so now, i am thinking how in the hell do i get the kid a doc appt and glasses in a week?? get the doc appt for this am, go to the court website to see if i can get this postponed only to find out that you can get the ticket dismissed if you show proof of fixing it within 10 days of getting the ticket!!! so i end up paying $180 in fines!!!!!!!!!!!! to say that i am furious at the kid is an understatment. to say that he is paying for the ticket is correct!!

so he has an eye doc appt at 10. we will be ordering the cheapest glasses possible.
has his appt at the children's hospital at 1:00. i doubt there will be any kind of diagnosis today, but i sure hope we are on track for one.

Oh, Ann! Ugh! As an old auntie used to say... what a mell of a hess. I'm praying for a good doctor for him this afternoon. Someone out there has to be persistent enough to keep at it until there's a definite diagnosis and plan of attack!
Today is a new day and a good day to start anew.

Jen, I'm sorry you and your ds got hit by the crud. Hope you both feel better quickly.

Angie, I hate it when dh does that! Grrrr!

Amy, be careful! I get driving in snow.

Today is not going to be fun, lol. I procrastinated on doing a whole bunch of stuff yesterday and guess what... it's still waiting to be done today. (Where are those elves when you need them???) I'm trying to decide whether or not to send ds2 to preschool today for his party. He's not awake yet, but is sounding like he's got a cold. I feel so bad for him missing out, but I know I'd like to throttle other moms who send their sick littles to school. Dd2 has a party this afternoon and is looking forward to that. Dd1 babysits this evening. She leaves before dh gets home from work and won't be back until her siblings are asleep so we're doing our family Valentine stuff tomorrow.

Anyway... hope ya'll have a good day.

Well I am just sick at my stomach. I think (meaning I HOPE) I left the crystal ring dh gave me for Christmas at work on the back bar. I had it on there, and got home and it was off my hand.
I put lotion on before I left, and I hope upon hope I laid it on the counter.

I called my boss and she'll get there early tomorrow and look for it for me and call me. I sure hope it's there!!!

Dh is so sweet. All he said was "it can be replaced".

Ann...how utterly frustrating ya'll must feel after today's appt. I am like Jen, and can offer hugs and prayers and good vibes though.

Jen...how'd the chicken turn out? Was it good?

    Bev, it was good.
I prepared it before I left for work and dh cooked it. Y'know, feta doesn't melt much. LOL I think it may have been reduced fat feta. AND, I used turkey bacon which reduced the fat even more... very good!

I'll make it again. Oh, and dd doesn't like feta so I made 2 with provolone instead of feta.

(((Ann))) I'm so sorry. I too was hoping you would get some answers. I can't believe that your son has to 'get on with life and deal with it'. There has to be an answer somewhere that is going to help him with this. I'm sorry this doc couldn't have helped more. Poor ds, he must have been stunned with this answer.
