    Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope all the sickies feel better quickly!

Dh had a dozen roses and a box of candy (which I've already broken into) for me on the kitchen table this morning.
I'm off today, so it's Cinderella work then work at Hallmark tonight.

Bev, I've got all the ingredients for your chicken reicpe, so I think I'll make it and leave for my family's Valentine dinner. Thanks for posting it!

Slept in by over 2 hours. Needless to say ds1 missed the bus and dh had to drive him to school on his way to work and he was running late today too. ugh And of course this couldn't have been a snow day. lol Not that I was hoping for one or anything. We are getting quite the dumping, roads out here aren't plowed yet. I'm surprised the buses are up and running but they are. Fil and his wife are not coming today after all. The roads are too risky. Bambi will have to wait for another day! A lot of people come from other little towns so if it's still really snowing I can't see us having many tables. Supposed to get 15-25 cm by tonight.
Going to go make the kids some cupcakes soon. Hope you all have a good day

    happy Valentines Day!

Snow day here but it's should be called a sleet day....I'd say we've got 2 inches and most is probably sleet....supposed to change to snow maybe later.

We it's a good day to day in and hunker down with dbf.....going to go wake him soon.

    Have a good one.
    Enjoy Today

    Happy Valentine's Day!

I have felt nauseous off and on since yesterday morning. Trying to figure out if its a med or a tummy bug. Haven't been able to sleep and can't wait for dh to get home from practice around 7:30 so I can take a bath and crawl into bed....ALONE! lol I splurged and got the boys a new Wii game for Valentine's Day - wish I felt better so I could play with them, but it has been fun watching.

Ann - GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR about your ds! Does he at least get how and where he messed up?

very frustrating. we were there practically 3 hours. bottom line, doc told ds that there was nothing physically wrong with him, but his body was throwing up for some reason. he needed to learn to deal with it. go to school. told him everything i have always feared..he will be left behind by his friends, won't be able to get into college, will become an adult that can't function.
called my pedi in tears. told him if i could get him to go to school, he wouldn't be homebound!!
found out my older dog may have beginnings of kidney failure
one of my tires started to wobble and almost fell off on the way home..now i have to get two new tires.
to say i am numb is an understatement.

Bottom line... the doctor is an idiot!!! If there's nothing wrong, he wouldn't be having the symptoms he's having. I am so sorry all of this is hitting you at once.

WoW Ann!!! What a miserable answer for something you hoped so much to help you shed light on! So ds has to live with nauesea (sp) for the rest of his life? Do they think his former illness has turned psychological on him? Is there any meds that surpress the need to vomit? Does ds accept this diagnosis and ready to move forward and try to get back to "normal"? Sorry so many questions! I have been out of the loop and was hoping they would find something to help him! ((((hugs)))

Your poor dog too! You can only do what you can do...try not to let it tax you mentally, physically and financially out! (((double hugs)))

    Ugh, Ann! How frustrating!

I know you said before that he had an endoscopy and colonoscopy, but did they do biopsies to check for eosinophilic infiltration to make sure he doesn't have EGID? He can appear normal on those tests, visually. Without biopsies, they can't tell if he has it. From what I read people suffer for years with this before it is finally diagnosed. There is a huge increase in people suffering from EGID across the country.

We're going through similar frustration with dd2. They can't tell us why she has choking/gagging/wretching fits, so we don't know how to treat them or get rid of them.

I pray you find answers to his problems, and soon!

    Happy Valentines Day, everyone!

Dh brought home 2 dozen long stemmed roses for me. They're beautiful! FIL is bringing us a take out rib dinner with all the fixins, since we can't go out to eat due to Ava. It will be nice to sit down and not have to cook or clean up tonight.

Hope everyone sick gets to feeling better. Have a great night all!

the general assumption between his GI doc, biofeedback doc and this one is that
    1) that when he was so sick last year somehow his body has gotten used to throwing up and doesn't know how to stop. it thinks vomiting is normal.
    2) his psyche equates sleeping with vomiting.

but the cure seems to be just deal with it and go on with your life. well no sh*t sherlock!

beth, they have done biopsies many times. i do not know if they tested for that specifically.

Ann - I am so sorry there weren't better answers today! To say it stinks is a grave understatement!!!

I can't believe they don't have any advice on how to deal with this if that is the true diagnosis. Obviously if it were such a simple answer to just deal with it and go on with life he would have long before now. How draining mentally, physically, and emotionally for you all! Wish there was some way to make it all go away or to at least make it a teeny bit easier. Continuing prayers and big hugs to all of you!!
