    Father's Day ideas

I would like to do something special for dh for father's day. He does soooo much for us and I would like to honor that. Problem is I'm short on ideas. Can you help? What are you doing for Father's Day?
Today is a new day and a good day to start anew.

what does he like to do but feels guilty for either spending money on it or taking time away from the family to do?

we are leaving that am to go to ds' college for orientation so we are going to have to celebrate it another weekend.

Most of those things involve electronics that I'm rather clueless about. I've been trying to think of some "luxury" type item for him to take to the Grand Canyon, but can't figure out what would be lightweight enough for him to pack down.

Father's Day is so hard for us with it being just after brich's birthday. He is going out tonight to buy a GPS system with his birthday money, which is the only thing I could think of for father's day... Hmmm...

Pam... I saw in the Sear's flyer that they had a digital camera keychain for I think somewhere between 9-19 dollars. Maybe he could take that with him. It wouldn't take up a lot of room, and he could take pictures as a momento.

Were just going to have a little cookout. Dh isn't expecting any gifts, he really doesn't need anything and none of the girls can really afford anything. It's just fun when we can all get together, something that seldom happens. So far so good... everyone can come.

We have a quiet weekend at home planned with the kids,
Dh wants to grill some steaks for dinner and the kids and I are surprising him with a pancake feast in the morning

My brother and I are meeting Dad for lunch next week.

I bought tickets to Boston/Styx for dh. 4th row center! He has nooo idea. I can't wait to give them to him. The concert isn't until late June, though.

We'll be staying at his parents house this weekend through wednesday while they scrape/stain our wood floors. We'll probably just go out to eat with them on Father's Day and spend some family time together.

We're not big on gift giving, usually I do a craft with the kids for him. This year I was hoping to get the 4 boys in for pictures but just don't have the time (more like all the kids aren't home at the same time long enough). I may just take some with the camera in the back yard. Actually, just thought that if I had a disposable I could take a bunch and zip into a one hour photo shop and pick the best to have done up. Still, time consuming that we don't have this weekend but hopefully I can swing it.

We usually don't do father's day gifts...but I like to have the boys make cards for dh.

Last year, (at ages 11 and 13) they wrote letters to him, wishing him a Happy Father's Day, and telling him (essentially) why he's such a great dad. It was a great keepsake, and he still has those letters attached to his bulletin board. I was thinking this year that they could make a "top 10 reason's why we love our dad" type poster. Might be kind of funny!

Truly, I tell my boys every year, that I don't need gifts on my birthday, or mother's day. Just write me a note...I know I will treasure those hand written notes more than any gift I could ever get.
