    Happy Canada Day! July 1st!

Happy Canada Day to our Canadian friends! What are you all up to today?

We have nothing on the agenda today. We will probably pack a picnic and go to a different park. We've been doing that every nice day we've had. Yesterday was just the most gorgeous day!

PT is killing me, now I understand why they call it pain and torture, lol.

    Have a fabulous day!

Enjoy your day at the park Angie!
Ann, hope the beach will help you feel better quickly.

We leave tomorrow too, so I have lots to do. I hate being the "mom" at times like this. LOL

I am so depressed. Our economy situation really has me worried. Our local electic company just got the go ahed to raise our electric rates 18% effective immediately. This is on top of our gas company raising it's rates twice in two months. I'm just so worried that we aren't going to be able to keep up with our bills soon!

Dh and I thought with buying the Wii, we'd entertain ourselves at home more, but hell, with the electric bill going up, we won't be able to afford to turn on the TV. You should see me; I'm the light police now "turn off this light!" "you can walk down the hallway in the dark!" "stop leaving the house with the TV on!"

Guess I'll have to start walking to the library. Ugh.

I am in pure hell this morning. Woke up to our old dog having diarreha in our toy room upstairs. I got out the steam cleaner and it still didn't come out. So I will be getting Nature's Miracle here in the next hour. Well, while I was upstairs, I needed to steam clean my room and the hallways. I haven't done that since we moved here. I figure most of the dirt comes off downstairs. LOL Now I am looking at the downstairs and realize the rugs are filthy too, so I am off to start those now. One little thing has totally changed the course of my day. In a way, i am grateful because I knew the carpets needed to be done, but it is one of those chores I keep putting on the backburner. Now at least I will be happy with my room done and the downstairs done.

    O Canada!
    Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

    From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee

    Happy Canada Day!

A friend is having a party later today and fireworks tonight. He and dh split on the cost of a huge package of fireworks, kids are all excited. They have a pool and I got a package of swim diapers for ds4. Found a cute swimsuit and cover up at sears yesterday, at 40% off at that! Not sure what we are doing until it starts at 3, maybe just hanging out in the backyard. I will make brunch soon. Hope you all have a great day!

Another gorgeous day here today too. High's up in the 90's. I've got some laundry to do, along with some light house cleaning. I'd like to get some reading done, but not too sure about that. I'm afraid to go outside because every time I do... one/some of my neighbor's always end up coming over. Not that I don't like company but... I just don't get anything done!

Dd #3 came over for a visit last night... I hadn't seen her since Father's Day, which is unusual. She's got 3 more weeks of her internship and then she'll have more time for herself. Her/Bob just booked another cruise, some time in August... they're sooo excited. As hard as they've both worked to get where they are today... they definitly serve it.

I just talked with my mom and my nephew's who's Open House we went to last Sunday was in a bad accident last night and totaled out his car. He bought this car off the internet (cheap) when he was 14... a real fixer upper. He's sunk a lot of time and $$ into it to get it to where it was... and now it's all gone. He'd just gotten $600.00 worth of new tires (with the $$ he'd just received from his party) all gone... Evidently he was showing off, was driving too fast down a dirt road, lost control and flipped it twice. They were lucky they were wearing their seat belts. My sister said she cries every time she looks at the car, which right now is parked in their back yard. The cop told them they/HE was lucky... Ugh KIDS!

Anyway, not much else. I hope you all have a great day.

Diane, I am sorry to hear about your nephew's accident, but so glad he's okay. A coworker of mine lost her 17 year old son (only child) to a car accident (going too fast) last Wednesday night. What I find sad is my coworker had just been away for a few days at Disney World for a work conference, her son picked her up at the airport and dropped her off at home before going out with a friend (the friend was in critical condition after the accident, but we learned yesterday he's going to make a full recovery). We all (work) went to the visitation/memorial service yesterday afternoon. It was the saddest thing I've ever gone through and throughout the whole service I could so totally relate to Barb as a mother to a 17 year old boy. Again, I'm so glad your nephew is fine.

Thanks for the Canada day wishes. It's a nice sunny/warmish day today. DH just left for a bike ride with a friend; my plans include the deck and a book. Last night we got together with the friends we went away with in April and had a blast...love our friend!

Ann, hope you have a good vacation and good beach weather.
Amy, good luck with the carpets.
Jen, I so hear you about the bills and wondering when they will take over. I worry constantly how our bills keep going up and dh's pay keeps going DOWN (honestly, he is making less than he did 2 years ago and what some people's salary starts at, at other companies). And the price of gas...dh could walk to work (in less than 15 minutes), but he still chooses to drive so he can get his Tim Hortons coffee every morning. And now ds is driving and although we don't expect him to put gas in the car if he's just going to work and back (we'd be driving him anyway if he didn't have his license), we do expect him to put some in for tooling around.

Happy Canada Day to all of my Canadian friends.

I just got home. I took ds to the doctor this morning, and I had some errands to run. Ds had a temp of 102.3 at the doc office, but they said his lungs are clear, ears are fine, and throat is fine, so it must be viral. If he is still running the fever in 2 days, then I have to take him back. Last time we did this, he had pneumonia when I took him back....I so hope the fever goes away.

Keep a look out for signs of kawasaki disease: red eyes, red/swollen lips, rash on body, red hands/feet. I still get paranoid when I see unexplained fevers. Hope it passes quickly!
