Monday - First Day of School!

...and so begins another school year.

Had a strange night of sleep last night. Was exhausted after the full day at church yesterday and having the gbs all afternoon, I took my sleeping pill at about 8:30, then fell sound asleep on the couch. Woke up about 1:10, went to bed, woke up again at 3:00, 4:00 and finally 5:00. Decided to just get up.

Have had my coffee and checked Amazon for a book I'm wanting. They are out of stock. Have You Filled a Bucket Today. Someone said Target had it, so I may check there when dil has her baby. She's scheduled for a C-section the 28th. Ds had to take her to the emergency room once this weekend. Not sure she'll make it till then. That's why we ended up with the kids this weekend. We took them after the birthday cookout at my in-laws.

PowerLift people are supposed to bring equipment out today to begin working on our foundation repair. Dh will spend the morning moving furniture out of the living room and dining room and out of the kids closets in their bedroom. Those are the only 3 rooms that they will be working in. They said they'd try not to damage the carpet too bad and save the tile. I said "knock yourself out-I want new". I just hope I don't have a dust nightmare from all the drilling.

Well, now I've piddled long enough and I really must get going or I won't get to school before the long lines.

    Have a good one all!

Have a great first day Kat! I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

Ds is already gone, dd's are watching tv. I must have gotten them up too early! My neighbor has an early meeting so her kiddo's will be here soon to catch the bus. I have a meeting tonight to train hostessess and devotion leaders for our upcoming retreat. I've got to wash our bedding today...

    Have a great day all!

Good morning all! We don't start school until Sept 5th, so we have a couple more weeks to go. I have fantasies of all the things I will be able to do once my little darlings are on the magic yellow babysitter. LOL

I have no idea what to do today except go to BJ's for some stock supplies. Last time I was in there, I spent $235, so I am hoping this will be much better. Other than that, dd is making us sushi rolls for dinner and I don't have to cook!

Have a great first day Kat!

I finished at Baylor and haven't accepted any new contracts yet, so I'm sitting on the patio with the dog and my coffee. It's lightly raining, so I've moved all my potted plants out to where they can get watered.

Not sure what I should do on the job front. Easters Seals needs someone I hear, but the hours were horrendous and I need to check out the location.

    "Talk" to ya'll again soon.

Today is the FIRST day of work for me, and the first official full day of work for the both of us as owners the company. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. Hopefully it will be a quiet, yet productive... day. It felt weird dressing up, something I rarely ever have to or need to do. I think I'm going to have to go shopping and invest in some nice work clothes. I'm mostly hoping to get a lot of cleaning/clearing out done today.

Also Shelly's first day of her new job as a dental assistent. She was also nervous. She had to stop by quick to "borrow" some lunch meat... They forgot to put their's away when they got home from the grocery store last night, and it sat out all night. She looked so nice/cute in her new scrubs. I can't wait to hear how her first day went. I'm so excited for her.

Maybe going to go see dh's aunt tonight. We really don't have the time... but I really do want to see/visit with her. I really miss all the nice visits we use to have. She's probably about the nicest/sweet lady I've ever known...
I wish she lived closer so I could go and visit with her more often.

Not much else on the agenda. I hope you all have a wonderful day...

work, then the eye doc. i am contemplating contacts. i have worn glasses for distance for years, cheaters for reading for the last 8 years or so, but my close vision is going fast. it's been ok to wear the cheaters, but the computers at work are just far enough that they don't work but i am having a hard time seeing them (they aren't on regular desk). i have been told that i can wear two different lenses and my brain will adjust...i don't think my brain is that smart! LOL

Ann good luck at the eye doctor...funny I wore contacts for years, and in the last few I have worn my glasses 24/7.

To all those starting school - Have a great first day.

Diane, is the office in your house or are you having to go somewhere else still? Have a great Full day.

I wear glasses only when I read... otherwise if I needed them all the time I'd get contacts, would never wear glasses 24/7. I should actually make an eye appointment too.

There are so many cute styles of frames out now....take a look next time your out in a mall.

For me contacts were great when I was younger, but as I have aged and my eyes have changed, contacts can't correct vision like they once could.

I can't believe it's only 10:30. It's been a long day already. Amy I'm having fantasies about the magic yellow babysitter, too! Fighting another infection and would love to crawl back into bed.

Kat, I hope your first day back is great!

    Donna, enjoy your down time.

    Vea, hope today goes smoothly.

Angie, what is your retreat theme/topic?

Diane, hope you have a great first day, too!

Renee, I'm with you on glasses vs. contacts for clarity of vision, but boy I sure do wish I could wear contacts again.
Today is a new day and a good day to start anew.

Because I'd rather not wear glasses... I don't look good in them. Hell... I don't even like to wear or be seen in my cheaters when I wear them.
