    Anything weird about your house?

I was going around removing more of the one million electric outlet covers that the previous owners had in this house, and it made me think about some of the quirks other houses I've lived in have had. One house was owned by a telephone company employee, and they apparantly got a discount on installations, because there were phone jacks everywhere. Even though it was a tiny two bedroom, one bath house, you could have had a phone in the bathroom, the garage, the backyard.... There was also a short pole hung on an eye hook inside of the bookcase of another house. No one could figure what that thing was for, but it obviously was important because they had gone to great lengths to make sure it was handy when they needed it.

What's a remnant of previous owners in your house, or something that people would scratch their heads over if you sold your house today?

The first house we owned, there was chickens in a coop when we moved in. I am freaking out because I have no idea what to do with chickens. Also someone used garden hose as a pipe under our bathroom and flannel clothing and/or jackets as insulation.

This house there were toothbrushes stuck down the drain, dollheads in the gutters and an alarm system that was like fort knox. Couldn't figure out if it was to keep the kids in or the father out.

Just that half of the things didn't work... like the underground sprinkler system that they advertised was totally shot. Things that had evidently broken and they had fixed/repaired them cheaply/shotty. Otherwise there were no other weird surprises that I remember...

After I finishes crying after seeing the house for the first time (we bought it sight unseen), our neighbors who we bought the house from came around and said they had just moved out the previous day and didn't have time to take the chickens with them. That house was the death of us, but it also made us pretty fearless. LOL

Ok I really feel better now.....LOL.

Our house has phone jacks everywhere. wire mazes everywhere. Oh and light switches at every door way...It's a joke trying o turn on the right light as you walk in...."It's like nope not that one". And of course the creepy "man bathroom" in the basement. It's a toilet in a closet woth a latch door and lamp on an extention cord....LOL.

If there is anything weird about our house we only have ourselves to blame! lol

In one house we owned, the access to the crawlspace was through the floor in a bedroom closet and they had a window air conditioner that was in a wall between the kitchen and garage. The same house that happened to have vines all over one side of it that turned out to be poison ivy.
