    Multiplication facts

Ds3 is starting the dreading memorization of multipliation facts that is the bane of 3rd grade! I got some cool games at the teachers store yesterday. One is called Hot Dots flash cards. Each card has a multiplication fact on it, and all the possible answer choices along the sides. You buy a pen to go with the cards, which lights up and talks according to whether you've chosen the right or wrong answer. I also bought a "book" of games boards by Learning Resources that looks pretty cool. All the spinners and tokens came with it. I have a set of Unifix cubes, and I'm going to dig those out to see if we have enough to make goups of eeach fact. Any other ideas? This is on grade level math for him, and I'd like to see him succeed!

there is a great program but i don't remember the name off the top of my head.
multiplication facts are set to music (each table to a different tune) and you can get it on tape or cd
i got it for dd in 3rd grade and it helped a bunch
i'm at mom's right now but will look for the book or tape once i get back home

Multiplication rock is awesome!! It's from the schoolhouse rock series. I heard it (for number 3) in Old Navy the other night and recognized it right away. Don't ask me why they were playing it or what else they played though. LOL

My dd just got a dvd called "multiplication rap" from a friend of mine. My friends son has autism and learns to memorize best through music and he really loves it.

LOL. Most of those songs were too fast for me. I do remember conjunction junction, what's that function, though.

Ds is very musical. Sings all the time. Drives me crazy! Hopefully we've covered every modality and he'll get them memorized.
