FYI...You can custom make Chuck Taylors on the converse site http://www.converse.com/# . At the bottom of the window click "Converse one". I had to make a custom pair of bright yellow high tops for dd's play. It's pretty neat to be able to pick any color or color combination you want.

The secret of having it all...is believing that you do.
kids both want Ipod nano chromatic - one purple, one blue
and they each asked for games for the Wii....
Dancing through life
Dd has no idea what she wants. The only thing she has asked for is some kind of album to keep the post cards she collects. lol So I guess I'm on my own for getting her gifts. So far I've gotten her a couple of Wii games, a Twilight hoodie, Twilight Companion: The Unauthorized Guide to the Series, and a couple of DVDs. She needs some winter shoes and/or boots but I need to take her shopping for those because she's extremely picky with her shoes.
Ds is easy. He loves animals, so I got him some animal play sets, lots of schleich african animals to finish out the set we started, and a few board games.
Ava was easy too. We got her some musical toys, a couple of Neurosmith block toys, and a couple of Little Einstein DVDs (she absolutely loves them!).

Ds keeps saying that the ONLY thing he wants is an XBox 360 Elite ($400). I'm having his Wii repaired (the disc driver thingy stopped working so discs don't work in it), but I just don't want him to have another game console. He needs a new dirt bike (totally has outgrown the first one he's had for four years) so we are thinking that since he needs one and we'd likely have to get one at some point in the not-too-distant future, that maybe we should just do it for Christmas. We'd get it second hand for sure since he'll grow into a bigger one still, but that's what we are thinking.
Dd is getting Elmo Live from my mom and I'm getting her a stroller to push her baby dolls in (she's in that stage where she wants to push the stroller instead of be IN it!). I'll get her some other toys, too. Not too much, though--I do remember a very anti-climactic Christmas when ds was 2 and he opened two gifts and was done. He just wanted to play with those and we had to persuade him finish opening the others!
The only problem I'm thinking there may be is when dd is older and watches the video of how ds got a DIRT BIKE and she got a toy stroller! LOL!
Ds is getting a John Deere Gator (motorized), some trucks, puzzles, books, basketball hoop thing, and t-ball set. I am pretty much done with him except for stocking stuffers.
