are you going to keep your familycorner.com site or merge the two together?
i was surfing it briefly and it looks like a great site!

I checked it out also. I noticed that it doesn't have a General Discussion board, which I'd miss terribly. I like the looks of everything else... lots to look at and see, that's for sure, but I'm still a little nervous. (and excited at the same time)
Never thought about a merging...

Actually FamilyCorner.com is completely separate. I didn't purchase Idea Box, I work for the company that didSo that's a completely different site with different ownership
Thanks for the compliments though!
As for a general discussion board, there is one called Idle Chit Chat. That's where general things are discussed. There are just SOOOOOO many topic forums that sometimes they get buried. I think the members probably have everything bookmarked LOL
Oohhh... I thought you purchased it. Kind of glad to hear that were staying separate... I really like our little group.
I'll have to go back and search for Idle Chit Chat and see what it's like.
Thanks.....

I have to admit, I am somewhat confused.
You didn't buy it, a company did? You are their employee?

Yep basically. The company that bought it owns a few other sites as well. I am the Chief Editor for those sites![]()
sweet! how did you get a job like that?
can we ask what's the name of the company or is that a secret?

Hi guysThe company who bought the site is The Moab Group. The other sites they own are:
www.anniesrecipes.com
www.aliciasrecipes.com
www.oldfashionedliving.com
www.babynamenetwork.com
www.popularbabynames.com
www.babynameworld.com
www.weddinglinks.com
They also own a few ecommerce sites:
www.craftcuts.com
www.familystickers.com
www.allcraftsupplies.com
www.justkidcostumes.com
As the owner of FamilyCorner.com, the Moab Group had purchased advertising space from me for several years to promote their ecommerce sites. I had a conversation with the owner and asked him if he was or knew anyone looking for an editor. Turned out he did, and he has always liked what I did with FC, so he hired me. I love the work, and he has a wonderful programmer that works for him too that does marvelous stuff. He and I just finished adding some really cool stuff to one of the recipe sites. We're doing a lot and the owner of Moab Group is a fabulous human being.
You are in good hands here, and I promise, we won't upset the order of your communityeverything will remain the same unless you ask for something.
What a dream job!!! sounds like a great company. I was looking at Annie's recipes yesterday. looking forward to surfing the other ones too.

Curious to hear your feedback on Annie's. it used to be exactly like Alicia's, but the programmer and i have been working on several different improvements over the last month or two. We just launched some cool stuff on Annie's:
email to a friend feature (which sends the text of the recipe as well as the link)
save to recipe box (can save your recipes for next time you visit)
upload photos (can upload pictures or recipes you try)
comments - you can leave comments on recipes
rating - rate a recipe you have tried
I'm really happy with what we've done![]()
For The Idea Box main site, we plan to implement some very similar features so people can save their favorite crafts, games and activities. Ratings and comments will also be added and we hope to implement many more goodies as well![]()
i like the site. the recipes look good. i would love to see more budget friendly and healthy friendly recipes. the 'banner' (not really sure what to call it) at the top of the page is really annoying. on the home page it says 'free recipes' 3 times and then when you click on the recipe it will say the recipes name 3 times (or a varation). it's not clickable. what's it for?
like the ability to rate/make comments. i use recipezaar alot and really value the comments. i also like their forums.

I also snooped on the recipes and saw a lot of things I'd be interested in making. I'm going to have to do a little more digging when I find the time...![]()

I found Alicia's to be much faster to navigate. It could have just been the time I was on it though. Love the Amish recipes on Annie's. I'm going to spend some time on them later. I'm going to start OAMC this month again. I need to get some new, fun recipes!
