    Tuesday

Wouldn't you know I was called off work yesterday morning due to computer problems there. So I got to spend the day in a quiet house staring at the empty place of Chasen. I sobbed most of the day. Thank you all for your sympathies. I feel much better today and determined to make some new routines to help make the transition easier.

((((((((((hugs))))))))))) Amy. It's hard to lose a pet, harder still when you had to make the decision to put one down.

Having my coffee and waiting for my gbs to get here so we can all head out to school.

Amy, I am so very sorry. I know exactly how you feel. As to your question on when do you stop feeling their presence/looking for them. It takes a while. I still sometimes look for Magic but it doesn't hurt as much when I do. Hang in there sweetie!!

well, i had an interesting 48 hours. sunday around 9:30 am, my left arm sort of went numb and started tingling. then it kind of radiated up to my jaw. about an hour later i got this sharp, electrical pain in my chest..didn't last long but really hurt. i called my cardiologist office. the doc on call said to watch if for a couple hours. as the day progressed my chest started feeling like someone was sitting on it and kept getting worse. so i went to the ER around 4:30. i walked in, was sent straight to triage and then straight to a room. i was put on oxygen and a nitroglycerin patch. (those make your heart feel great but give you a migraine like you wouldn't believe!) preliminary tests looked good but they admitted me for observation and further testing. i had an echo cardiogram and stress test yesterday. finally got to take the patch off about noon..my head hurt like the devil! thankfully, i didn't have a heart attack! the doctor thinks i had a cardiac spasm but there is no damage. i got to come home yesterday around 6:30 pm.

so now a quick entry back into real life again, school starts back for dd and i am up making her breakfast.

Ann! OMIGOSH! I am so glad you are okay!!! What the deleted expletive was the cardio on call doing, telling you to watch it for a couple of hours????? My dad used to tell me the only headaches he had ever really had were the Nitro headaches. Too bad they couldn't give you something to counteract that.

    Amy, I agree with Ann, you still expect them to come around the corner at any moment, but after a while it stops hurting so badly. {{{HUGS}}}

Ann, I was wondering where you were in my time of need! LOL I am so relieved that things weren't horribly serious.

I am already waiting for that time that it doesn't hurt so badly. Dh mentioned that its an end of a period of time for our family. We got him just a year after we got married and he was the traveler-always moving with us during the military. He saw each child as a baby. In a lot of ways, he was the cornerstone of the family. I know he is free from pain now, but not having that touchstone has thrown all of us off.

I was thinking the same as Pam, Ann. What was he thinking telling you to watch for a couple hours? GEESH! Don't wait sweetie, just go, it's not worth taking the chance.

Getting ready to head out the door to take ds3 to school. Then back to cleaning and chasing ds4. He is soooo busy, can't turn my head for a moment kind of busy. Hopefully, this afternoon nap will be longer than yesterday's because he barely closed his eyes. Ds2 was out of naps quickly, hope this guy doesn't start to think he doesn't need one too. I want that to continue for at least another year. No big plans today, grocery store and bowl tonight. Have a good one all

Amy, I'm sending you many hugs ((((Amy)))) I know your pain all too well, in fact I still struggle to talk about it...we lost our friend a year ago suddenly at age 8. It's very hard but it really helps to talk about it as much as you need. We have pictures up and though it hurts we don't want to forget her. Have a new guy now but he'll never take CJ's place. So do what you need to and know you have people who care.

Ann..OMG! How scary! I'm so glad to hear you're OK and so sorry you had to go through that. Please take care!

I'm home sick today...have been down a few days and tried to work yesterday but that wasn't happening and saw the dr instead. I have asthma and it got out of control and now I'm stuff for lung infection & sinus. Fun times...mega pills should fix me up.

I hope everyone has a good day...and good luck readjusting to school and work!

no, the cardiologist on call was great. he called me within 10 minutes of me calling the service (then the service called me about 20 minutes later making sure he did!). i had taken my blood pressure and it was only elevated a little bit. he said 'certainly if you feel the need to go right now, go'. but felt comfortable telling me to wait a few hours to see if it would go away because of my blood pressure. he told me what symptoms to look for. for the longest time after he called, the only symptom i really had was the tingling. it wasn't till later that the chest pressure started. that's when i went in.

Even so... with the history of what happened with the meds, etc., you'd think a cardiologist would be a little more proactive. idk. It's a touchy subject after what Dad went through. (((HUGS))) I'm glad you're okay.

i don't really remember what happened with your dad, but sorry this touched a nerve. i felt very comfortable the way he handled the phone call.

Dad had congestive heart failure and polycystic kidneys. His journey is what began my major distrust of most doctors. I'm glad you've found a good one. (In case you haven't noticed, I'm not always really reasonable when it comes to doctors. )
