    Field Trips

Are your kids taking field trips this year? Our schools have already cut out one trip for the year because of the high cost of fuel. They went on a short trip to another school to see a musical performance. I'm hoping that they will go on their scheduled trip this spring.

The Grammer schools that my grandkids go to have cut out all trips this year. We were told that it is not in the budet. Now what gets me is the fact that there is always enough in the budget for sports. I mayself don't care for sports but I do relize my grandsons do AND KIDS DO NEED THIS ACTIVITY but I feel lets save a little for trips too. Some kids don't get to go anywhere and really look forward to these trips. For the school taxes we all pay I feel ther should be a little something left over for class trips.
A positive attitude may not solve all of your problems but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort..... ~~Caroline~~

I agree with you, happy. Even though the sports trip are needed - many schools rely on their sports programs to survive. Be it right or wrong--all of the kids need to be able to experience field trips. Most parents are willing to help cover the costs of some trips. Too bad it's one of the first things they take away.
