    Hi Everybody!

    Hey guys,

My name is jami. I'm a "newbie" to ideabox forum and I'm darn happy to be here! I joined because of the Kindergarten Teachers forum. I am in school now to get my masters in education. I love kids! I have always loved kids and I can't wait to start my new profession, not that I have an old one though.

I live in NYC, but I'm originally from the mid-west. I have not adjusted to being here in the city well, but I think once I find work and meet professionals, I may finally find my footing.

Like I said, I joined because of the Kindergarten Teachers blog but I'd love to hear from anyone. Have a great time posting out there and I hope to read something from you all soon!

Ps. I love cats (big cats and house cats), rabbits, rain, and SUMMERTIME!

It's very nice to meet you! please jump right in. The boards are a bit quiet right now, but all it takes are a few people like us to get them jump started!

Welcome! I can imagine the changes you are going through moving from the midwest to NYC. I'm still getting used to NC, moving from PA and it's been almost 5 yrs!

My DD is in kindergarten and her teacher's name happens to be Jamie. I cant' wait to hear of new ideas that you have for teaching. Kindergarten is SO different now from even when my son was in K 5 yrs. ago.

I share your like of big and little kitties. We have 2 small ones ...I would LOVE to own a big one - a Siberian tiger.

    Yeah,

I've got a big thing for cats. I'm a Leo and the idea of having a lion rocks my world. AndyandLexismom, you said you moved to NC from PA. I went to school in PA and moved to NYC after being there for about 4 and a half years. I miss my hometown though because it is so familiar. I knew who to talk to, where to go, what to do, and where I could find help if I needed it. Here I feel a little loss and there's doesn't seem to be a lot of resources to help me find my way.

I look forward to getting back to work and finding new people to collaborate with. What's it like in the southern part of the country?
