Is your purse neat and organized???

Just curious...because I am terrible about this! After I purchase something, I tend to just toss the receipt, charge card, change, etc into my purse. This makes it a mess, of course. I'm lucky that I haven't lost anything major (knock on wood). I'm just not real organized about this. How about you????

I got so tired of being the family 'carrier' (Mom, can you just stick this in your purse?) that I switched to carrying a wallet only, about 5 years ago. It forces me to return my credit cards and put my receipts away. Of course I need pockets for keys and stuff like that.

Since 9/11, I no longer carry my purse. Since I live on a military base and security is high, if I carried one it would have to be searched before I enter any building. To much of a pain for me. I just put my ID and drivers license in my pocket. It has made like simpler. If I need to write a check some place then I will take my wallet, but usually I just carry my check card with me.

When I did carry a purse, it was pretty organized.

Not really. I do try to put money and cards away. Sometimes I throw the receipts in my purse and sometimes I make sure they are put away. I wouldn't exactly call it neat and organized, but I can usually find what I am looking for. (knock on wood)

When I bought my purse I bought it because it had so many compartments... I "thought" it would help me keep my purse more organized. Well... all it's done is cause me to be SO disorganized. Every time I need something I find myself zipping and unzipping this/that compartment looking for what I need, not sure of what compartment it's in. LOL Then when I need to put something in my purse... I'm usually rushed to do it and I end up just shoving it in... wherever. LOL I DO however go through my purse quite often to reorganize it. As for my receipts... I have a little area in my check book where I can tuck them. That way I know where they are when/if I ever need them.

No, my purse isn't organized. I go through it when I pay bills so I can find my check card receipts. I am pretty good though about putting things back in the compartments that I took them out of, it does make it much easier to find things. At least it narrows my search.

I hate big purses. I only carry two credit cards and my driver's license, and my cell phone if need to.

LOL, funny that you should ask....my purse is Medium in size, but on Saturday morning...my niece kept saying "how come you have everything in your purse, and it doesn't look like it...." I have wipes, crayons, lipstick, mirror, hair scruches, wallet, cell phone, pen/pencils, pad of paper, suglasses.....etc...you get the hint...but its not messy....just full....LOL....

LOL... isn't it funny how much you can cram into a purse if it's all put in "just right?" I have a friend who's purse is almost as big as a diaper bag... and she still complains about not having enough room in it. LOL She's constantly "digging"... can never find anything. I've seen her actually dump it all out... LOL That would drive me crazy!

funny, its not much bigger than a 5 lb. bag of flower...but somehow I seem to have everything life throws at us in it....LOL..dh calls it "my Magic bag" everyone should have one...LOL


I too have a friend who carrys too much in her purse....funny, I think she may have a diaper in it and her kids are 5 and 10

I don't carry a purse either. Just my planner with checkbook when I need to!! My DL and credit card is in the car in a little wallet that I can throw into my planner when spending!!

RCT and Diane - funny about the purses!! Yep, I have seen a Lady dump her handbag at the checkout!! Oh the things some women carry!!
When traveling and purse is needed I do stuff it only with essentials and try to keep it very organized so I can find things!!

I don't always carry a purse either... just depends upon where I'm going. I usually just carry the checkbook... it's got little compartments for my drivers license and all my credit cards. Once in a while I'll forget that I left my purse at home... go to grab for it and panic when it's not there. LOL I'd rather not carry one at all if I can... they only get in the way.

Also... I have more than one purse so I trade off depending upon what color I'm wearing. (black, blue, white and a creme color) so moving things from one purse to another kind of helps keep my purses pretty neat and organized. I carry medieum sized purses though... no too tiney or too huge ones for me. LOL

I quit carrying a purse for a while because it seemed to turn into the diaper bag. I just carried my wallet with me, but then I found that I hated carrying it the whole time I was in a store or if I needed an extra hand for the dks - didn't feel as safe to just lay it in a cart, so now I am back to my purse again. I also just throw receipts in and it drives me nuts to have the clutter, so I do try to clean it out often and keep as little as I can in it.

No Way is my purse organized. I think it is impossible to have an organized purse no matter how hard you try. I try and put money away and stuff. But it still is a big mess.
