    We're trying it again

We did artifical insemination for the 2nd time today.

I'm a little discouraged by what the dr. said about it - he said it was actually "insignificant". That didn't make me feel real confident.
Apparently, they can put as much up there as you have, but it's up to the falliopian tubes to pick up "the guys". Man, I never knew I knew so little about my body!! It sure makes me realize what a miracle babies are!! It's amazing anyone gets pregnant!

I've heard it can take many times, so try not to get discouraged.
I've also heard and did this when I was trying, lift your legs over your head, or I suppose they tilt you back. It lets those little guys swim back to where they need to be. Also if your ovulation happens near a full moon see if you can try then. Might be a myth, but during a full moon it's easier to get pregnant, I did!

Along these same lines, I have heard to stay laying down for 1/2 hour with a pillow propped under your bottom. Best of luck!!!!

I actually heard something along the same lines, that if you staying lying down for about 1/2 hour after, and also if you position yourself in a pelvic tilt, it encourages them to swim .

    Thanks guys.....

I've heard the same things you've mentioned. The first time we did insemination, I had to lay down for 15 minutes afterwards. This time (different dr.) I was told I could get right up. When I asked about lying down, he looked at me like I was an idiot (don't you hate those kinds of drs?) and said "you've got 67 million of those guys in there, you don't need to lie down". Ooooookkkaayyyy.....
It does help that they are shot right into the uterus, so they don't really have to move up; we're bypassing an entire step.
Believe me, I've had myself propped up sooooo many times!!!

The really interesting thing was seeing them under the microscope. You can't imagine how many there are and how fast they are moving!!

Thanks for the encouragement - like I've said before, it's nice to come here and be able to get things off my chest/mind. Some of my friends don't understand at all.... and those of you who haven't been thru this stuff, you're so encouraging - sending your best wishes - and I thank you.
