Teen Suicide and Depression

Hello Everyone,

First off, I would like to say how wonderful these boards are. It is really great that there are so many considerate parents. This really is a fantastic place you have going here.

My name is Mindy, I'm twenty years old. I volunteer at IllStandByYou.com It is a site for teens and young adults suffering from depression, self injury, eating disorders, and the other issues surrounding them. We are a non profit organization. We started in July, and since then have had nearly 20,000 visitors to our site.

The reason I am visiting your site is to let you know that we have message boards on our site now that are catered towards parents and the delicate issues you have surrounding your children and their struggles. I would like to invite you to check out our site and utilize our boards.

As parents you all should know the facts and warning signs of suicide and other tough issues. Remember, no one ever thought that "it could happen to their child." Please take the time to check it out and let me know what you think.

Once again, I can't express how wonderful it is that you have this site and these boards. I only wish my mother would have had something like this when I was younger.

Thanks for sharing this with us. I will definitely check it out. My bil suffered from depression while living with us and I looked for as much info as I could get. It will be nice to have this for fututre reference if we need it!
