My sister and her baby may be coming for an unexpected visit within the next 48 hours, she hasn't been here in 2 years. So I started picking stuff up, straightening out a bit. I always considered myself to be quite organized, and it seems I am always purging and donating stuff. But wow! I have lots of spaces that could be further purged, lol! No way to get it done before she gets here, but certainly something to get done before school's out!

Do you keep on top of it all or do you have these corners in your house too??

    Talking Always Purging here

Funny isn't it, I save all the old calendars in my life, but can seem to purge our un used things once a month...I have gotten really good at this lately...I can go throught the kids rooms easily, and get rid of tons of clothes that don't fit, and toys....now dh's closet has things in it from 1988 when we meet...LOL.. I am pretty good, now the downstairs...well its always cluttered and I HATE IT, but no matter how hard we try....until this house is finished...I think we're stuck with it....its clean though you can eat off my floor....LOL...well not with my puppy, ok I take that back...LOL....I guess I would say I am organized in the sense that I too AnnW, know exactly where my clutter is when I need it...LOL

Thank you for asking and remembering! Yes, same sis. They have been in NC since December. She thought she may get to go home for a couple of weeks but the specialist she saw yesterday say nope, the baby needs another helmet to finish reshaping his head and even a 2 week delay could work against them, so she finally lost it. She has been so strong and amazing through all of this, but was really focused on going home, being a family again (hasn't seen her dh since she left) and now she can't even do that. So I suggested she come here, let me help her with the baby, she can go get pampered, do some shopping, sleep in, etc. let someone else do the worrying for awhile, etc. The baby is now 16mths old and busy!! Dh's travel agent is checking into flights for her right now.

The baby's head had rounded out quite a bit but still needs another 3 months of treatment, so looks like she will be in NC til June. Her dh is coming over 1st week of April.

    Thanks again for asking Ann!

Let's just say that my house L@@KS very clean and organized... but there are definitely a few closets that I wouldn't want opened or a few end tables that are so crammed full of stuff that every time you open the door... half of it ends up falling out and I have to pick it all back up and cram it all back in. The problem with my house is that it's all USEABLE space and hardly any room at all for storage. Where my storage room use to be (just a little space) I turned into my exercise room... so I no longer HAVE storage. We weren't doing too bad until my FIL died about a year ago and we ended up with a bunch of his stuff here too... Ugh! Most of everything that can be stored is out in the garage... and I don't even want to talk about paper... I LOVE surfing the net and finding new idea's... arts and crafts, recipes, etc. I go to the trouble of printing it all out and then it all ends up sitting in a big pile on my desk. It's always my intention to file them and I've even bought the file folders, but every time I try to start doing anything with it, I get totally overwhelmed and I usually end up putting it off AGAIN. I've got a pile just as big hidden away in a closet upstairs in the hallway. LOL I get mad at myself for doing this because I'm usually a very neat, tidy and organized person, just not when it comes to paper. LOL I've seriously thought about picking it all up and tossing it in the garbage but then I think about all the paper/ink I'd be wasteing and so I end up just leaving it.

I also never feel that my house is disorganized or messy until I know company is coming... and then I start feeling like it's not good/clean enough, and it really is but sometimes I think I'm just too critical. LOL Dh is an insurance agent and he said that when he goes into some houses to write insurance... he can hardly find a place to sit down, so he never complains if their are a few things out of place. Well, I'm really going on too much here, aren't I. Better quit before you all think I live in a pig sty or something. (No, I don't... LOL)

    Another pack rat here...

and I could also tell you where all - okay most - of my stuff is. I have been trying to organize all of our closets and cupboards for the past month or so. Of course some are worse than others and some can end up looking cluttered again the next day thanks to dks! LOL! While it lasts it feels great to open them and not see clutter! I am not good at letting go of stuff, but am really trying to be better about it.

I am also a pack rat. I can tell you where most of the stuff is too though. I keep telling myself that I will organize it all when I am unpacking it from the move, but I bet it winds up the same way. LOL!!!
