So, how's the exercise and healthy eating coming along?!

Just wanted to check in with everyone who's on the healthy train!! I haven't been able get here in a few days, but have been thinking about everyone and hope you're all doing great!!!
I've been a really good girl in sticking with it! Amazing! This is the longest I've EVER stuck with eating right and exercising!!! I guess the Mexico trip is really working to motivate me!!! Every time I think of being seen in a bathing suit, I get a little nauseous!

I hope you're all sticking with it!!!!! The end results will be worth it!! Keep it up!!!!!!

I always have a horible time the week before my period because my appetite is insatiable. Its quite insane to eat a full meal and still feel like you could eat something else. Thankfully, that is over and Im more motivated to exercise now that Im not depressed about the eating and bloating. Turning 30 sucked for me! LOL

Glad the rest of you are doing well.

Hey Amy-do you work customer service for Cigna? Do they handle dental claims? Im always calling ins. companies for claim status.

Thanks,Karla, and you keep it up, too!! You can do it!! Just making more of a conscious effort at eating right is a step in the right direction!!

Amy - I work in Business systems development, but if you ever need help with claim status, or anything else, I'd be glad to help.
I don't mind at all!! And it'd be a nice break from the usual humdrum!!!

Email me at aimes30@bellsouth.net and I'll give you my work # and instructions on how to get a CSR to connect you to me!!! Honestly, wouldn't mind for you to call at all! And, it'd be pretty cool to talk to you in person, on CIGNA's dime!! So, what is it you do that you check claim status (and how have I managed to miss it?!!!) My background is Medical, but I know enough to figure out what's going on with a claim, and the girl that sits beside me is a dental guru!!!!

Now, back to the eating thing... sheesh! I haven't had a period for over 2 years, but just started for the first time 2 weeks ago and thought I was going to eat the entire contents of the Bi-Lo!! I was going every single day b/c of cravings!!!! Yikes! I really don't miss the PMS junk, but I guess it's necessary to regulate the ol' hormones! That was even worse than the gorging that comes with PMS!!! or PMDD or whatever the newest term is!!!!!!

Not good, but thanks for asking! LOL

Really, I think I have been doing ok with the eating part, it's just the excersize part of it. I am a walker, and because of the ice/snow and cold weather, I can't go outside to do it. I just found out that I CAN take my dks to the gym with me (if they sit quietly) to do step aerobics! Step aerobics is something I LOVE!!! They have a T/TH class and I think I might start going. My neighbor goes with her friend (who I don't know). Do you think it'd be weird if I went too? Not with them, but on my own? I wouldn't want to make the friend feel weird if I was there...

Up and down here...I am doing much better with my eating, although I have to concentrate hard on 3 meals a day....it's the exercise thing that I have to motivate myself for.

Actually, I'm going on the treadmill right now

Welcome to my life 24/7/365 LOL.

The food thing is going OK. I really need to get in gear and layoff the junkfood and the nighttime eating. Its really slowing down my training.

Exercise is going well. I managed to run 8 miles this morning at a time that would put me under 2 hours for the Mini in May which is my goal. The sad part is that before Thanksgiving, I was running a similar time. I was eating less and weighed 15 pounds less though. I am losing the weight much slower this time which in the long run is better. I lost a pound last week. Hopefully by April I will be under 190. I would really like to see 180 by then, but think I would put it back on real quick if I did that.

I know, I'm not noticing a real difference yet, either. But I'm really trying to keep from getting discouraged. I just tried on two bathing suits that I ordered through a catalog and I think I'm going to vomit.

For once, I'm not having trouble getting motivated to exercise, I keep going back to the bathing suit issue, but I just can't get in enough everyday. I swear, if I was working at home everyday, I'd be doing some sort of exercise at least once every hour!!!! I walk laps at work and go into an empty office and do a few crunches and butt lifts, but I need to do more.

I tried an Aerobics LITE tape last night and thought I was going to die!!! Did you notice the LITE part?!!! I know with everything you have to work up to it. Not going to do it everyday though because my bad knee was a bit sore today. Need to get to the Y and swim, swim, swim!!

Jen, I don't think it'd be weird for you to go to the class alone. Don't worry about it! Just go! It's great they're going to let you take the kids!! Good luck!

Jeff, way to go with the running and losing weight! You're doing great!!!!

Ann, wish there was something I could say! I'm desperately searching for a pill that will "take it all off" instantly! when I find it, I'll let you know!! LOL

    Unhappy unfortuently

I have stalled.....I was doing so great....lost 11 pounds....the first months....its been almost another month and the scale hasn't moved.....which is good that it hasn't gone up....but I fell into some bad eating habits...that turned into a couple of times a week......now I am struggling to get my but back into gear....still working out...so I know I can maintain.....

need to loose 10 more pounds so I can wear all those cute things in my hope chest...LOL funny that I store them there.....20 to be at my goal.....I'll get there...slow and steady win the race.....hang in all...we can do it.....

I hear the PMS stuff....totally there right now....

BTW I took my first dose of Estroven last night...so lets talk in 30 days....they say it can take that long to notice a difference....sometimes as little as 7 days.....I'll keep you all posted....cuz being a *&tch is bad...being a hungry one is evil....

My control on food has not been great lately, but I haven't paid for it yet at the scale. I weighed 195 on Monday, but I just am running in place until I can stop eating the junk. dw made about 4 dozen homeade cookies last Saturday and I've had no will power resisting the Oatmeal raisin. YUM!

I feel myself on the verge of losing control, so I am starting to pull in the reigns a bit. I actually had dw go out tonight and get some of the ingredients for the lowfat recipes (graham crackers and cool whip, whoopee cookies, and Key Lime Pie) so I can have something low fat when I get a sweet craving.

My excercise level is picking up. I ran for three miles today and I plan on doing four miles on Thursday. By next week I'll be doing five miles and will start looking to do long runs on the weekends. I'll really need to start focusing on my speed once I get to the five mile mark.

Jeff... how fast do you need to go to run the mini in under two hours? How many mph?

6.55 would get in done in two hours. I would like to do it in under 9:00/mile which is around 6.7

I promise, as soon as I find that miracle pill, I'll send you each one... free of charge, even!

Brichard, it's good that you're making a conscious effort. And having those lowfat treats on hand will help, too! I had thought of next time when I make the woopie cookies, spreading the cookie batter into 2 jelly roll pans, baking them, then spreading one pan of dough with either the marshmallow cream, lowfat or fat-free frozen yogurt, or fat-free cool whip and freezing them like an ice cream sandwich! Just a thought! That may sound more appealing to some!!
And on the key lime pie, if you're going to do the chocolate version, use unflavored jello so it will set (I neglected to do this!).

    Good luck everyone!
