Renee, No info from me, but a few questions and an opinion......

What do you mean by religion? Prayers, a sense that there is something greater than humanity, historical traditions?

I think without family participation, all (or at least 95%) of religious education stops at the ears of children. Faith takes a long time to grow, and it needs a supportive environment. So in that sense, yes I homeschool--providing information, clarifying responsibilities, and most importantly modeling the things I believe. But religion is, for me at least, at least partly a community thing. I rely on the example, prayers, and strength of others as I struggle along my own faith journey. I can find solace and inspiration from the Bible, but it isn't enough to have the knowledge without the practice. Participation in Mass has changed from something I had to do when I was younger, to something I need to do now.

Shockingly , Jesus said it better. Matthew 13:1-23
Good luck whatever you decide. It is a really important decision.

Well, I guess I do in that we live our religion and practice it everyday. It's not something that we just do on Sundays. We pray every night at dinner and bedtime, talk about Jesus. If you mean INSTEAD of being a part of a congregation then, no we don't. Like Cathy, I think you need to be apart and have an obligation to be apart of a congregation. It isn't something that you can do in a vacumn.

Renee, there are various homeschool curricula that include religion with other subjects like math, reading, science, etc., but I don't use one of those, nor do I intend to. Ds goes to CCD (Catechism) classes and we also go to church, pray and read, etc.--so I don't feel that the formal religious curriculum is necessary.
