WOW....so its friday again.....started more laundry today...needed to do the sheets....finished painting the trim in the hallway last night...but see now that it needs a second coat... need to go to the supermarket later....after dd goes to school....tired today...its cold here...only a high of 35 expected...little snow flurrys going on now....YUCK

DS got himself into trouble this morning for mouthyness and just plain not doing what he was told...so no TV today...took two favorite toys away....and no EASY BAKE OVEN tonight...which he has requested earlier in the week....of course I took things away one at a time....he just kept saying ok...no biggy...well we'll see how he feels today after school when I don't give in....

looking forward to spring....can't wait....come on spring...get here would ya....LOL...

    Enjoy your day all...

Just trying to get caught up here. Oldest ds has been at my mom's since Wednesday - all by himself and his idea! When I was ready to leave Wednesday he said he wanted to stay and I was shocked - he has never done that. (Last week when he had to stay over he was very nervous about it and we had to stay until he fell asleep.) Well, one night turned into two and my mom said he has been doing great! Hopefully this is a small step forward for us. He said he wants to stay 10 nights, but I talked to him this morning and told him we would be there at supper time tonight. He is starting to sound a little homesick, but told me he wants to spend the day with Grandma ~ I think it has been great for both of them, but I am lonely. Youngest ds and I have had fun together the past few days and it has been nice to have a break from their fighting. Nothing planned for the wknd but good ol' family time.

Renee - Good luck with your ds tonight!!

Karla, great step for your ds!!

Took dd to her 8 year check up, she is 50" tall and 53 lbs. Dropped her off at school and ran into an old dear high school friend who is now a teacher at our school, we had a great time visiting! Went to Bath and Body Works and got some fun new lipsticks and eyeshadow and then met dh for lunch, now I am going to take a nap.....love my life!!!!!

Busy preparing for ds' birthday party tomorrow! He'll be 6, and is having 13 of his "closest" friends over for a Space-themed birthday party. I'm making a cake in the shape of a "6"...with the circle part of the 6 being frosted like "earth". We're decorating toilet paper tube rockets, playing Planet Bingo, and Hot Potato with a giant Asteroid (Bumpy Ball). I bought some astronaut food for them to try, and have a sticker solar system as a "back up/extra time" activity. Should be fun! We even bought light blue party plates, and are using permanent/non-toxic green markers to turn them into "earths". Goodie Bags include American flags (from the moon ), flying saucers (frisbees), planets (small rubber balls), stars (glow in the dark), bracelets (glow in the dark), astronaut pens (really bright colors), and toy compasses. I love planning these things!!!! Ds is SOOO excited!

It's our last day of Easter Break (besides the weekend). Time went wayyyyyy tooooooooooooo quickly! The weather hasn't been very nice....cool, in the 40's.

Sounds like everyone is busy and productive.
Karla, Glad your ds had such a good visit with his grandma. I'm sure you'll be glad to have him home, though. The boys probably really missed each other and won't bicker for ohhhh, 15 minutes or so. LOL
Renee, Enjoy the painting and groceries. Your life sounds about as exciting as mine.
AnnW, I think I'd take any one of those things and call it a good day. Glad you enjoyed it.
MaryL, Happy Birthday to your ds. Hope the party is as much fun as it sounds.

I've got the blahs! I can't seem to get going. I know a lot of it is the weather, but I can only use that as an excuse so much. (The weather is lousy for about 7-8 months of the year, but I've always lived here. It's not exactly new!)
My teaching assisitant (who I like and worked well with) got into a car accident while she was headed home for Christmas break. She was pretty banged up, but nothing broken, although she tore some ligaments. They promoted a part-time aide from another room to work with me, and we've been working together for 3 months. The kids are finally resettled, the aide has really started pitching in with the paperwork, and we just rearranged the whole classroom to regenerate interest and focus (both for us and the kids!). We have really worked hard to create a strong team. Today I learned my assistant will be back on Monday. My kids will flip out....testing, acting out, and getting used to the change. My TA is still sore and has some trouble sitting down/standing up. This group of kids is EXTREMELY active. I'm a little nervous that she won't be able to go at full strength. To top it off, I have a seminar on Monday, so I won't be in the classroom at all. I have such mixed emotions about the whole thing. Have I mentioned (recently) that I don't deal with change well?? Such a small thing, really, but I feel thrown off balance.

    AAARRRRGGHHHH... Thanks for listening!

I'm so happy it's Friday! The sun is shinning brightly and it's a warm 39 degrees out! We have over 13 hours of daylight now- so I really think spring really is on the way. Still have a few feet of snow, but it's slowly melting.

I don't have any plans for the weekend, just realaxing and catching up on TV. I have 4 VCR tapes to watch, but don't even know what's on 3 of them! One I know has ER and Friends from the night... the others who knows! I guess I'll figure that out this weekend. Probably a few Rosie shows as I record it everyday, but don't get a chance to watch it every night.

Ann, thanks for reminding me that I need to make my dd an 8 yr old check up appointment too. It completely slipped my mind. Her b-day was 2 days after my dad died, so I was a bit busy with other things around that time.

I think I'm finally getting caught up on my time and sleep. My mouth and ear still hurt at times, but it's getting much better and I can actually sleep through the night now without getting up in the middle of the night in pain. I called the dentist and they said it will probably take over a month for the wholes in my mouth to close- but at least now I know.

    have a great weekend everyone!

Sorry to hear you have the blues. Hopefully the time change next weekend will make things seem more like spring, and who knows? Maybe your class will surprise you and only test a little bit??

Hope you feel better soon, the blues suck

Thanks. I am looking forward to lighter evenings. My class will probably be fine, but I'm not so sure about me. LOL
I'm sure I'll bounce back after a little sleep.

I'm glad to har that you are doing much better. I can't believe it will take that long for the holes in your mouth to close... wow.

So sorry to hear about your dad's passing... when did that happen? Sorry if I missed it.

Have fun trying to catch up on watcing all those tapes. I did that for about a month and finally decided it was too late to watch them anyway. LOL

Good luck... I also hate change, especially when you've finally gotten everything in a routine and now it's got to change all over again. (It's confusing for the kids) Keeping my fingers crossed for you. XX

Thanks, Diane. I'm sure it'll be fine. I appreciate the venting space.
