Who do you buy presents for at school?

Just trying to figure out who to buy presents for this year. I've always bought a gift for the teachers, the librarian, the gym teacher , the secretaries and the principals. This year I am not really sure what to do. In the past, the kids were both at the same school, and everyone knew them. This year, older ds is at a new school. The secretaries iin the new school don't know him, nor does the principal of vice-principal. He has a french teacher, a music teacher, librarian, a gym teacher and his regular teacher.

Who do I buy a present for? I was thinking for the new school, just to send in a big tin of cookies/chocolates for the "staff" and then get little presents for the teachers he only has for one period a day. His regular teacher should receive a nicer present of course.

For younger ds I guess I do the same thing.

You buy for all them?? WOW!!

This year I will buy for dd's 2nd grade teacher and ds's will be a little more involved because of speech/language therapies he gets. He has 2 preschool teachers with 2 helpers, a special ed and speech therapist and a private speech therapist. Can you say homemade gifts this year??? LOL I was thinking homemade bath salts, chocolate dipped pretzels and/or cookie mix in a jar.

I actually ordered something for each of ds's teachers...it's cute. It's a ceramic spoon rest (for the kitchen) with a picture of a woman painted on (to look like them) with their name painted on it...ie Marla's kitchen.

For the offices I think I'll just buy something to share. Like I said I usually buy or make something little for the others. Not quite sure this year. It gets so costly

Our room dues go to a class present for the teacher, but there are always the over acheiving moms who have to still give a present so your child looks at you like you are a tightwad so now I get a little angel or ornament for the teachers. Don't usually give presents to anyone else. In middle school, I let ds decide who he wants to give to.

I only buy for the teacher's they have. Last year DS had two teachers (one was on maternity leave for half of the school year) so I got gift certificate for both.

If I know the teacher I will get something specific. For example, one year DS's teacher was on her last year teaching and she did calligraphy. For her we got calligraphy papers. One year I got DS's teacher a specific education book (Cunningham's Month-by-month Phonics for kindergarten). She could never find it so I had it special ordered.

This year it will probably be a gift certificate for both DD's and DS's and something extra for DD's.

For sure ds's kindergarten teacher. And, I think there's a gal in there a few times a week helping out, so I may do something little for her. He also has different teachers for music, gym and computer lab....not sure if we'll do anything for them....? he loves 'em all though, so we'll see.

Youngest ds has 3 teachers in his preschool room. This year I was thinking ahead and bought Bath and Body sets on sale!! I have enought to cover everyone so far! I know the gals in the preschool office pretty well, so I think this year I'll take in some cookies or something for them to all share. He actually has the month of December off, so I will either do that at the end of their quarter or just stop in as a surprise in closer to Christmas.

When mine got to high school, it all ended. They each have 8 or 9 teachers. I can't even name them all. Dd3 will want to give her coaches something, but other than that we don't give gifts anymore. I will send a box of candy for their religion teachers.

Once ds left grade school, he was on his own. He has bought for teachers that he particularly likes. Last year he got a little something for his English and his History teachers. If I had to guess this year, I'd say he'd get his band teacher and his History teacher a little something.

I exchange ornaments with all the teachers in my grade as well as the secretary and our aides.
