    OK who's with me??

OK, new year, fresh start, I am recommitting to eating well and exercising once again. I haven't worked out since Dec 4, ugh, shame on me, except for the occasional power walk around the neighbourhood. I started counting WW points again today too, even though I hate being a slave to that system, I can't deny that it works.

Anyone else feeling good about getting fit??

Can I join?? I don't need to loose any weight but I do need to start eating better so I can have more energy and I MUST start exercising so my mushy back and hip muscles can get strong and they won't ache anymore. Staying motivated and finding the time is just very difficult.

Yes, I could stand to get back on track. I've gained my weight back and I can't even run a mile. I think someone else must have run the mini six months ago.

Tell me when and how I need to report and I will step up to bat.

Well, I'd like to say "ME TOO", but I cannot tell a lie! Iknow I should get on track, but never have been good at self discipline and can't see myself getting better at it!

But I will cheer all you on!

I am with you on this one!! I joined a weight pool at our health club and I will get my body fat tested on Friday. (oh, won't that be pleasant-NOT) I have been exercising fairly faithfully since the beginning of Nov. I haven't seen much in the way of pounds but my clothes are fitting better.
    We can do it!!!!!

ps-how much does it cost to join WW? Can I find the book with points in it anywhere without joining????

If you join online, I don't think its costs anything.
At the headquarters where my wife attends her meetings, you can just buy them off the rack. I would guess they don't really check to see if you are a member or not.

Beth - you can join when they have free registration - which I think is going on now. Then it's $10.95 a week. (online is $14.95 a month w/a $29.95 sign up fee)
Honestly, I advise joining - going weekly and checking in and listening to ideas and recipes from the others is a great support tool. Not to mention, that weigh in -- I've got to go tomorrow myself.

I wasn't keen on staying for meetings at first, but if you're paying for the info, and the support, stay and gain the knowledge of those that have been successful. I've come out of there with so many good tips, ideas and recipes, it's well worth it.

As far as the books - you can buy the point finders and cookbooks off the racks, yes. But when you join, you get a few more books, reicpes, etc. plus the point scale - that way you can find the points in the foods you buy - you don't have to go by what they've got in the book.... sometimes in your grocery store, you can find lower point foods just by buying a different brand than what they put in their books........

Good luck with whatever you decide.

(hope I didn't sound too much like a WW groupie!!! I just know how well their system works)

My pants are definitely a little more snug than they were before the holidays. I'm plannig on at least 5 workouts a week until my clothes are more comfortable. I've already purged the kitchen of the "bad" food. I also need to get off of caffeine. I'm not sleeping very well lately and have been suffering from headaches and I suspect caffeine is part of the problem. I don't know if I should take some ibuprofen to ward off the caffeine-withdrawal headache or just wait for it to happen. Does anybody know how long it takes for caffeine to leave your system?

SMB- I heard it takes 1-3 weeks for caffine to leave your system.

I'm going back to WW meetings this week or next. I'm thinking about going macrobiotic for a month or two as a way to fight fibroids but I'm afraid I'll will be too low fat and it will sap my energy. Has anyone do this?

I am definately ready to start watching what I eat again!

Is there anyway that someone can send me the points for the food (WW) ?

I read somewhere that if you eat an apple before each meal it gets your metabolism going. I am going to start that today as well.
