    How much for DayCare?

OK, we call it Day camp, its through the YMCA ,since the kids are off track....the hours are 6 am - 6:30 pm, if needed....we pay $202.00 a week for both kids, they do get snacks, do crafts, out door games and go swimming in a heated pool 4 days out of five....plus a weekly field trip, this week is bowling (no cost to us)

Dh got the impression from the girls in his office that we are paying too much....

I feel like they are having fun, learning and making friends, and the rate seems standard around here...

So I was curious as to what the prices are where you are...

I think you are getting off cheap! Here in a home setting you'd pay $125-$135 or more a week for the care and field trips may be an added cost depending on the provider. On base at the before and after school program the price is based on what your income level is. I think the cheapest is around $90 with the most being around $150. When I checked into just before and after school care (not full day care when the kids weer out for the summer), we would have paid $660 a month for our two kids for 2 hours of care a day. Which is about $8.25 an hour. I thought that was way too much and that's why I decided to do home day care my self.

Around here you'd be paying anywhere between $100.00 to $l25.00 a week per child, if not more because of the extended hours they are there. Most providers here charge according to a 9 hour day... anything more would cost more. With all the YMCA has to offer... I think you're getting one heck of a deal. Can't imagine that these ladies would have found something a lot cheaper... and if so would wonder just what they are getting or not getting for what they're paying. I'm glad you're kids are enjoying their time there.

I have to say that these kids are worn out by the time I pick them up at around 5:15pm.....just done.... they went to one of those mini golf arcade things yesterday...had a great time...every thrusday its something new....next week is bowling...I think its pretty cool....

Still have a little guilt about working 50 hour work week, but they are having fun...and that is cool....when they go back on track things should settle down...I am only working 7-5 until after the holidays...
